Overview

SpendingVault ("we," "us," or "our") operates spendingvault.com(the "Site"). We publish U.S. federal spending transparency content built from public government data, primarily sourced from USAspending.gov and related open datasets. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.

Information on the Site (public data)

Awards, agencies, recipients, geographic rollups, and similar listings are derived from publicly filed federal spending records. Recipient information often identifies organizations (not private individuals) as reported to the government. If you believe official government data is wrong, contact the awarding agency or USAspending support — we mirror what the public APIs and bulk releases provide.

What we collect from visitors

Browsing: We and our infrastructure providers may process server logs (IP address, user agent, pages requested, timestamps) and may use cookies or similar technologies for security, preferences, or aggregate analytics.

Newsletter: If you sign up for email updates, we collect your email address and store it so we can send messages you requested. You can unsubscribe using the link in those emails.

Contact and lead forms: If you use our Contact Us page or other forms, we collect the fields you submit (such as name, email, phone if provided, and message) and may store them in our systems to respond and improve the Site. We may also record referrer URL and technical data for abuse prevention.

How we use information

We use information to operate and secure the Site, respond to inquiries, send newsletters you opt into, comply with law, and understand aggregate usage. We do not sell your personal information as a commodity.

Service providers

We use vendors for hosting, content delivery, email delivery, and database storage. They process data under our instructions and appropriate agreements.

Retention

We retain form submissions and newsletter records as needed for operations and legal compliance, then delete or anonymize when no longer necessary.

The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
